Repeat~

Jim, Cody and I are excited to have our Bryce join
us in Germany for some fun.  Bryce arrived about
noon today and we made sure to fill the day up with
some interesting activities to help him with his jet-lag.
Many of the activities were recent repeats for us, but
for Bryce each activity was a first, it was great.

After picking Bryce up at the high speed train station
in Siegburg we drove back to Bad Godesberg and
walked into town to enjoy the atmosphere and buy
a Donor (Turkish wrap), he seemed to like it.

I took everyone to the local coffee shop in Bad Go
that has some pretty amazing hot chocolate.  You do
the mixing of the milk and the chocolate syrup.  Cody
wanted the milk chocolate, Bryce the dark chocolate.

It was perfect for the rainy, cold day we were having,
no surprise there. ;-)
Once we had our fun tour of Bad Go we were off in
the car to see some fun local sights in other towns.

We decided to do a return trip to Rheinbach, where
Jim and I enjoyed dinner the previous night, to show
Bryce some of the great history sights in the town.
This day time shot shows more of the great colors
in all of the timbered buildings along this street.

A day time shot of the city tower.

Another great picture of the sight of the Roman ruins
water drainage pipe that used to run through Rheinbach.

It was raining for this repeat photo of
the building we enjoyed dinner in with
Alfons and Lissy the previous evening.

After our quick repeat tour of Rheinbach we were
off down the road to Bad Munster.  I visited this
town with friends a few weeks ago.  This is another
great town to experience the feel of German culture.

~Jim, Cody, Bryce~
One of the gates into the town.

A view done the main strasse in Bad Munster.

Another one of my cute, little German houses!

Festive flags to liven this building.

I love this crooked old timbered building in the middle of the town.

Jim and the boys spent quite a few minutes
looking into the creek for trout, they spotted a few.
The creek runs through the center of town.

These gables are so cool.

Another town gate entrance.

A walk along the inside of the city wall.

Standing on the city wall above Bad Munster.

Cody on the wall.

~Bryce~

Town rooftops...and a big tree in the way...

Right back where we started.
After a great time in Bad Munster Eifel we were hungry!
We decided to enjoy eating dinner at a local Czech Restaurant.
It made us feel just a bit closer to our great missionary serving
"next door" in the Czech Republic. :-)
Our evening was spent at home packing for an EARLY
morning departure to Greece.  More fun to come!

Night Out On The Town~

Jim and I enjoyed one last visit with our
wonderful friends Alfons and Lissy.
They have been such lovely friends
to have while living in beautiful Germany.
We have lost count how many times they
have helped us with problems or suggesting
ideas to enjoy while living in Germany.
Thank goodness modern technology
includes email and skyping options, Lissy
and I are already planning to "visit" often.

Lissy knows how much I enjoy looking
at the half-timbered houses in Germany.
So she found one in Rheinbach to dine in!
Now THAT'S a friend who notices your tastes!!! :-)

 ~Alfons, Lissy, Jim~

 Our dinner was delicious!

It was a wonderful atomosphere to have dinner in!

 ~Lissy, Alfons~

We took a walk through Rheinbach to
see the charming houses in this town.

Alfons walked us over to the very old city
building that had a court and jail where "witches"
were kept before being tortured then burned.

Further down the street was part of the Roman water
system structure that used to run through the city.

 It is 2000 years old!

An evening picture of the restaurant.

Lissy was so sweet and as a parting gift gave me a
painting of Prague that she chose during her trip there.
One of the great things about life is great friends to last a lifetime!!!

My Buddy Tom, the "Budding Photographer"~

Tom is a GREAT shopping buddy!
He never complains about how long Maiya and
I spend looking in a store.  AND he hasn't run
into our heels once with the shopping cart! :-)

We had to pose together in this garden shop.

This is Tom's picture of us, pretty good!

Tom likes to do closeups too.

 New angle...

Hugs are pretty good coming from my buddy Tom!

Guests For Dinner~

With time running out I had my new friend Maiya,
and some of her family, over for an evening meal.
 ~Maiya, Coreen~

Too bad we are moving so soon!  It would have been
great to enjoy Maiya and her family much longer than the
two weeks we will get.  So, we are squeezing in every minute
we can.  Along with enjoying some great chat time we are
helping each other learn more about Germany.
I've shown her around the cities of Bad Godesberg and Bonn,
where to shop, fun bike paths, and great tourist towns.
In turn Maiya has taught me even more things to appreciate
about the German culture.  Such as where to buy great bread,
looking for the freshest flowers and showing me vinegar
comes in many flavors!!!
I think I need to live here just a bit longer-I'm still learning!

SCHOOL'S OUT!!!~

Cody has officially finished his school career at BIS.
Bonn International School in Bonn, Germany.
Wednesday all the students had a year end assembly
followed by tearful goodbye's as many students,
including Cody, would be moving on to new schools.
Here are a few photo's of Cody with his friends at BIS.

 ~Cody, Imane~

 ~Cody, Nash, Spencer~

 ~Dyvia, Cody~

 ~Jesper, Cody, Qi-yao, Nash, Vivek~

This is only one photo, of MANY, that younger girls
at school wanted to have with Cody.
Some were literally in tears...

 Jade, BIS's security guard.
One of Cody's favorite people.

The following day Cody had some friends over to
continue his "Book Burning" fest.
Always looking for a reason to light something on fire.

I'm hoping he's out of fuel soon!

One more visit to the school for some goodbye pics.

Cody did a flip like this in front of the school 2 years ago.
Now that he's going home I think this jump is bit higher. :-)

See ya later BIS and friends!
