Coreen's Birthday Week-Day 2~

Having birthdays and turning older is a lot more fun when

you have dear and fabulous friends to celebrate with!!!

 Kim, Kris and I met for lunch, at one of 

Kim and I's favorite Mexican restaurants.  

The food was great as always.

Besides eating I enjoyed talking for two hours

with two of my favorite people!

Definitely a great way to spend a birthday!!!

 Later I took my mom some birthday flowers to enjoy

at her office.  We have the same birthday on Nov. 3rd.

I decided my Mom needed flowers to enjoy the whole 

week of her birthday!

I was "tickled pink" with my new little 

Wee Forest Folk "Flapper girl" from Kim.

She is so darling in her pink dress, pearl beads

and sparkling purse.  So, so cute!!!

Coreen's Birthday Week-Day 1~

Well, I'm up for another birthday again....

To make turning older much more palatable my dear

friend Kris flew in to town for a fun week to visit

and play and of course talking non-stop!

 One of the first fun activities was having her meet 

Cody's lunch bunch that I have fun cooking meals

for once a month.  Nothing like having lunch with

4 cute boys!!

Kris and I also enjoyed visiting Lilly and Kola, the

Reichman's dogs.  Lilly is the puppy we picked up

for the Reichman's a few weeks ago, she is hiding 

under Kris's legs enjoying the shade during our

beautiful fall day in sunny Colorado.

Later in the afternoon Kris and I had a great time

watching Cody at his diving practice, despite seeing

some other divers having "near death experience's!!"

SUPER KID!!!~

SUPER KID AWARD!!!

Cody received a letter from Broomfield High School

notifying him that a teacher has nominated him as a

"Super Kid" and he will receive recognition in an

upcoming ceremony.  Super Kid awards are given

out for those students who show many types of 

positive attributes such as a positive attitude, good 

work ethics, classroom participation, maximum effort, 

good citizenship, good classroom behavior, strives

to improve, self-respect, positive role model.

Where Have All The Leaves Gone?~

The day after the storm almost every single

leaf fell from all of our trees!

Whoville?~

The day after our big storm.

As I drove around Broomfield there were

some beautiful sights to see.  The trees

were layered in snow, more than the normal

amount due to the leaves holding the snow.

 As I looked at these trees it made me think of the

movie "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and

all the trees in "Whoville" that were so unique.

 Earlier in the morning the view over Broomfield was

almost white.  When I came back a couple hours later

to take a photo it was beginning to melt.

Save The Trees~

Monday, the 24th, it was 80 degrees...

broke a record.

By Wednesday we had a major snowstorm,

only in Colorado...

Jim and I were up at 5am trying to knock the

snow from our tree branches.  It had been such

a warm October that by the time the snow flew

most of the trees still had all their leaves.

This became a problem throughout the day

with many fallen branches throughout the

Denver Metro area and northern cities.

There were many power outages, some lasting

for two days.  We lucked out only being without

power for maybe an hour!

 Wednesday morning at 11am we had

some pretty good snowfall!

 7 inches high.

 Little bit of a winter wonderland.

 I had gone back outside for 2 more hours in the morning

working on knocking more snow from the tree branches.

I think we saved the trees!  Whew!!

 By 1pm the same day the railing of snow

measured at 9 inches.

Cody came home and tried knocking more

built up snow from the trees.  Jim had to finish

the job later that night.  We were glad we lost 

no branches with this early storm!

An Award~

Jim is now officially unemployed..

 But, before letting him go he was officially recognized

for his major contribution to turning around the company.

"In Recognition of 3 years of Dedicated Contribution

to a Multi Million $ European turnaround project."
