The VERY Lost Songbook~

A friend from church found a fun discovery in her kids church bag.
It had not been thoroughly looked through in years.
She found this pocket size
Primary Children's Songbook
that did not look familiar.
We had a good laugh when we opened it and read
this inside:
"This is Kent's private book do not READ"

Kent had received it from us over 12 years ago.
Sometime after moving to the Broomfield ward, he had lost it.

Noisy Night Owls~

Unfortunately teenagers come alive at night.
When parents want to have a peaceful nights rest.
Cody set up a sleepover at our house
with Ethan and Tanner.
Video games, food and movies were on the list.
From the looks and sounds of things in the basement,
it's not going to an early, quiet night...

Family Fun Time~

A fun night was spent at the Kaiser home Sunday.
We enjoyed our meal with the missionaries
and then the rest of the evening was
spent chatting and playing games.
The "old" people beat the younguns!
I guess it's still age over beauty...

Kent, Chelsea, Cody, Shane
Small piece of information.
The tape measure was brought out...
Cody is officially taller than Kent by 1 inch!
 Kent-5'10, Cody 5'11"
Sidenote:
Chelsea is taller than Aunt Coreen, by a 1/2 inch.
AND Chelsea also has a bigger shoe size,
which makes Aunt Coreen happy.
Coreen didn't like being the only "bigfoot" in the family!

Football Fans~

The Rose Bowl Football Game was played
on New Year's Day.
Without Dad around to watch it with Kent had
to think of a quick fix!
~Football and Food and Friends~
No better combination!

More Technology~

We were hoping to use Kent's laptop for the next two
years, but once Jim got on it he realized it was on it's
last leg.  He splurged and bought us a new laptop!
Now Coreen might actually be able to stay on
top of her blogging, even when she's traveling.
Cody starting up the new computer with Mom.
With a second computer there shouldn't be
any struggles to get computer time!
Unless, the argument is over who gets to use the new one....

Friends Make Life Fun~

You can never have too many friends.
Especially fun, cute ones!
Kent and Kelsea

Colorado Cousins~

We were able to spend a quick evening
visiting with cousins in Colorado.
Cody, Tyson, Kent, Chelsea
Shane

Bowling Buddies~

A night bowling was one fun activity while in Colorado.
Cody, Dad, Kent, Kelsea
 Cody was consistant both games.

He did well enough to finish 2nd
in the first game of the night.

 Kent wasn't always as focused...

He did manage to place second
in the next game.
He had a spin ball that was amazing!

 Dad showed us all up,
especially in the first game.
He was shy of 200 by 10 points.

Coreen wasn't worried about her game,
she was just there to be Jim's cute date. :-)

A Night Out~

One of our evenings in Colorado was spent going
out to dinner with our friends Mark and Kim.
We had a fabulous meal at a Mexican place
and enjoyed the remainder of our evening in
the Deuschle home visiting and sharing gifts.
Coreen, Jim, Mark, Kim
One of the great blessings in life is
having a best friend to live it with!

Family Sealing~

Jim and his brothers were able to do
temple work for their father and then
be sealed together as a family with their
parents in the Mesa, AZ Temple,
Tuesday, December 28th, 2010.
Here is four of the Engstrom brothers.
 Left to right:
Bob-son 5, Jim-son 4, Ralph-son 1, Rex-son 3

Some of the family members in attendance:
Ralph, Patsy, Bret, Liz, Rex, Susan, Will,
Jim, Kent, Bob, Kelly.
It was a wonderful event together.

Later in the day was a fun
family lunch eaten at Red Lobster,
in memory of their dad, it was a
favorite place of Lloyd's.

Christmas Day~

Our Christmas Day started out with our traditional
Swedish Pancake breakfast, orchestrated by Dad!
Everybody is sitting at the counter waiting
for their first warm Swedish pancake.
There's the cook with one of his Swedish
fans doctoring up a yummy pancake.

Christmas goodies waiting to be opened!

Cody was happy to get his very own
snowboard for Christmas this year!

Kent already sporting his new Denver Nuggets cap.

Tyler made out with a new pair of ski pants.
Good thing since family fun includes skiing!

Bryce opening one of many shirts
 he was excited to receive.

A SKINNY tie for Cody!

New shoes for dad from his sons.

Chandra was happy about her new Yoga mat.

Kent's trying to show his talent at Yoga....

Some Yoga pointers from Chandra.

Cody getting in on some Yoga action.

A new shirt to go with that new tie.

Good taste in shirts from big sis!

Chandra excited about her new boots!

Now she's styling.....

....except for that "thing" attached to her leg.

Mom was NOT happy about the
Homer Simpson Shirt
Cody received from Kent!
Cody is NOT allowed to wear it in public!
And that's FINAL!

Nothing like getting a new snugly bathrobe
from your hubby.  More hugs guaranteed!

Cody's German made gift for Chandra and Tyler.

Kent's just THRILLED with his traditional
can of beans he gets from Bryce every year....

Tyler giving Chandra's scarf a twirl.

Cody gave Kent a Czech leather bound set of scriptures.
They are beautiful!

Coreen's thrilled with her travel size
set of scriptures from Jim.

Nothing better than receiving something
you were hoping to receive.

A SNUGLY!
Just like on TV!
JUST what Chandra WANTED!!!  wink wink!
(Husband's always know the right thing to get.)

Another great thing about Christmas gifts
is giving a gift you are SO EXCITED to give!

Coreen gave Jim the newest version of the ipod nano!
Now he's got plenty of GB to store all his music with!

Hey, a new Blue Ray DVD player from dad and mom!
What time's the movie?

Bryce was thrilled to receive a new
coat he was dreaming about!
He's lookin' good!

A new watch for Coreen from Jim.

We enjoyed our spiral ham for dinner.
A step up from last year's meal.

Merry Christmas!
It was a wonderful day of gift giving, eating,  Christmas movies,
and of course a round of Settlers.
