Friends from church invited me to go visit
charming Ahrweiler for an afternoon.
~Ingrid, Coreen, Dana~
Before going into the village we took a walk
along the small river that runs through the area.
We could not ask for more perfect weather!
At the end of our walk we stopped for some ice cream.
One thing we have noticed while living here is the
Germans love "their" Italian ice cream. The shops
make it even more fun with all the colored glass serving
dishes they put the ice cream in. It makes it so fun to eat!
Here is one of the two entrances into Ahrweiler.
I will NEVER tire of looking at all the charming
fronts to the shops along the cobblestone walkway.
Just charming!!!
If only our shopping malls in the U.S. could look this cute!
This one was darling with all sorts of flowers along the front.
A view of the pedestrian walkway.
The church in the center of the village is beautiful!
This is just one shot of the sqaure area where people
were sitting everywhere enjoying the sunshine and being
serenaded by music with beautiful gardens to enjoy.
It was a lovely day! I love Germany's village's! :-)
