The World Just Got Bigger!~

Well, the day has finally come, Cody is driving!!!
Cody has repeatedly reminded me today that he  is
the last child in our home that I have had to teach
to drive.  I'm not sure how to take that...is he trying
to remind me how old I am???

Of course once we got home he was gone within
5 minutes already having somewhere he "needed"
to drive to....

The key to all kinds of new possibilities.

Here's the rules Cody:
No speeding, no loud music, and no fun!!

Our Yana Girl~

Our sweet, wonderful, gentle Yana girl has left us.
Unfortunately a tumor that developed quickly in the last
few months shortened Yana's time with us in our home.
We were so very blessed to have such a beautiful
and wonderful, sweet-tempered pupster as a part
of our family for the past 10 1/2 years.
Yana had a very, very mild disposition and was so
unconditionally loving to each of us in her family.
We will all truly, truly miss her!
Our hearts ache and we wish we could have had her
much, much longer but we are grateful for the
years we were blessed to have such a gentle soul
as our beautiful pet to love and take care of.

Our neighbor coming to say goodbye to Yana.

Friend Robin and Kendra, my sister.
Kendra was able to be with us all day long and
endured our tears and pain offering much comfort
and support as we suffered losing our Yana girl.

Cody just getting home from school and hearing
the news that Yana has a tumor.
Cousin Chelsea feels for Cody.

Neighbor Jon coming to say goodbye to our Yana girl.

Yana actually sat up to greet Kim, her Maggie girlfriend's Mama.

 I love you Yana.

She has truly been my gentle, sweet, happy, constant companion
her whole life all day long as my cute children would be off
on their own adventures of school, sports, missions and marriage.

 She was so, so sweet!

 Our sweet girl.

I love her so, so much.

Like our friend Robin's card reminds us:
We will someday get past the pain and then remember how
our Yana girl was
"This sweet little soul that has left a rainbow in our hearts!"

 Skying with Chandra
so she can see her Yana girl one last time...

 Giving Cody some "kisses."

Cody indulged Yana's licks on his leg one last time.

Shane and Kirk come to visit Yana.

Chandra's on skype, Cody's on the phone with Dad,
I am on the phone with Bryce.

Yana is just not feeling well...

 The Kaiser's with Yana.

 Our sweet girl.

 Born on Janurary 3, 2001
Passed away on August 18, 2011

One last bowl of ice cream...

...a little cold on the teeth.

 Some last licks.

 Mmmm, mmm good.

To the vet's with Cody and Hedgie, Yana's little
toy she would bring to us when she was happy.

Cody giving Yana a hug before lifting her out of the car.

Jim and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on Wednesday.
Our flowers are next to Yana's Hedgie toy, and flowers
for Yana as well as a card from thoughtful friends.
Our friend Kris, who was Yana's "mama" while we
lived in Germany lost her cute doggie Sequoia recently.
She received a quote to help with losing Sequoia that
gives me comfort as well, it is:
"If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever."
We know that to be true in our home, we could not have loved
Yana more than we did.  We will miss you Yana girl.
Go chase your squirrels in Heaven with your friends
until we get there to love you forever!!!
