Jim, Cody and I are excited to have our Bryce join
us in Germany for some fun. Bryce arrived about
noon today and we made sure to fill the day up with
some interesting activities to help him with his jet-lag.
Many of the activities were recent repeats for us, but
for Bryce each activity was a first, it was great.
After picking Bryce up at the high speed train station
in Siegburg we drove back to Bad Godesberg and
walked into town to enjoy the atmosphere and buy
a Donor (Turkish wrap), he seemed to like it.
I took everyone to the local coffee shop in Bad Go
that has some pretty amazing hot chocolate. You do
the mixing of the milk and the chocolate syrup. Cody
wanted the milk chocolate, Bryce the dark chocolate.
It was perfect for the rainy, cold day we were having,
no surprise there. ;-)
Once we had our fun tour of Bad Go we were off in
the car to see some fun local sights in other towns.
We decided to do a return trip to Rheinbach, where
Jim and I enjoyed dinner the previous night, to show
Bryce some of the great history sights in the town.
This day time shot shows more of the great colors
in all of the timbered buildings along this street.
A day time shot of the city tower.
Another great picture of the sight of the Roman ruins
water drainage pipe that used to run through Rheinbach.
It was raining for this repeat photo of
the building we enjoyed dinner in with
Alfons and Lissy the previous evening.
After our quick repeat tour of Rheinbach we were
off down the road to Bad Munster. I visited this
town with friends a few weeks ago. This is another
great town to experience the feel of German culture.

One of the gates into the town.
A view done the main strasse in Bad Munster.
Another one of my cute, little German houses!
Festive flags to liven this building.
I love this crooked old timbered building in the middle of the town.
Jim and the boys spent quite a few minutes
looking into the creek for trout, they spotted a few.
The creek runs through the center of town.
These gables are so cool.
Another town gate entrance.
A walk along the inside of the city wall.
Standing on the city wall above Bad Munster.
Cody on the wall.

Town rooftops...and a big tree in the way...
Right back where we started.
After a great time in Bad Munster Eifel we were hungry!
We decided to enjoy eating dinner at a local Czech Restaurant.
It made us feel just a bit closer to our great missionary serving
"next door" in the Czech Republic. :-)
Our evening was spent at home packing for an EARLY
morning departure to Greece. More fun to come!
I love Bad Muster Eifel! It was a family favorite this past Fall/Winter. How much longer are you guys there in Deutschland? It's crazy that your time is almost through... Enjoy it all - soak it in! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Bryce got to come over and visit on last time!
