Here I am back in Cochem-TWO DAYS LATER!
I just LOVE IT!!!
My friend Maiya is new to the area and
had not yet visited this charming city so I had
NO PROBLEM
taking her back for a visit to this lovely town.
We had quite the adventure getting there! When I came with
Jim on Saturday his GPS took us right into the part of the city
we could park in. But my GPS had a "bit of fun" with us. It
tried to literally drive us into the center square where all the
tourists WALK-no cars!! We had to wander our way out of
that predicament, but as we did we came across a BEAUTIFUL
view of the Cochem castle and had to stop to get a picture. It
was raining for a bit when we arrived so the mist clouds the view
but the mist makes for a shot of typical German weather. :-)
Here is another shot showing more of the vineyards
growing down the hill from the castle. This part of
Germany is known for the vineyards and wine produced.
Maiya also took me into a store that besides selling wines
they sold flavored vinegar for cooking. We sampled five
flavors; I didn't know you could sample vinegar!! I will be
taking Jim back for his own samples and bringing
some bottles of vinegar home, they were delicious!
Cute little German house on our hike to the castle.
This view is a bit hazier than the one Jim and I took
on Saturday, but still just as beautiful in it's own way.
