We decided to take advantage of Cody's
two week Easter Break from school and spend
time revisiting London.
Cody was only 3 or 4 the last time our
family came, so I thought it would be nice to
give him a "refresher course."
Plus, he was very happy knowing
he could speak the language in this country!
London's Natural History Museum.
An absolutely beautiful building!
It's iron and steel framed structure was revolutionary
when it opened in 1881.
The first couple of days in London the
weather was VERY cold.
Cody tried wearing shorts but eventually
gave up and wore jeans.
Still one of our favorite stops in London.
The main entry with a T-Rex welcoming us in.
This ceiling display was actually from a live tree!
We watched a video of the steps taken to choose,
cut down, and treat the thin slices of the tree
to be displayed here.
It was about a 6 month process.
I enjoyed this jewel display.
It shows all the colors of gems possible.
They were beautiful lit up under an ultra violet light.
Cody is standing with his back to the base of a tree
hundreds of years old that shows the rings of
it's growing history.
Coreen standing just above the main entry to the museum.
Cody and I were both SO EXCITED that we were
offered ice in our drinks!
We don't get to enjoy that "luxury" often in Europe.
This is the beginning of Cody's Power Pizza Week!
He had at least one a day, making the total 7!
Well, we know he's got the European cuisine down...
