Our household shipment from Germany
FINALLY arrived.
It took about 8 weeks by truck, ship and train
to make it to our home in Colorado!
Lining up the trucks...
The stage is set!
We are asked to look on as the lock
on the shipment is broken.
There it all is!
Prepping the house with covers on the banisters
and wood floors and plastic on the carpet.
Let the work begin!
I was "on call" first to check off each
box as it came off the truck.
Jim took over the job as things started piling up in
the house and more directions inside were needed.
Bryce came out at the beginning of the day
to keep Jim company for a while.
Nothing like watching others work while
you get to sit around and "shoot the breeze..."
This was just the beginning of empty boxes starting
to litter the front lawn. The amount of empty boxes
eventually filled up the entire truck!
Once most of the boxes were inside it was time
to see how quickly we could empty them so they
could be taken away. Jim and Bryce pretty much
emptied all the boxes for the kitchen. There were
probably 20 boxes to be emptied, and it was fun to
see my Polish Pottery getting set out ready to use!
Besides Jim having a job interview, via skype, in the
morning Bryce also had one set for the afternoon. The
piles of boxes were put aside as Bryce did some follow
up work after his interview.
Here is Cody's room piled high with lots to organize.
When Cody got home from school he checked out his
room and I heard this small little moan. He honestly
was hopeful he would come home and have ALL the
work done for him by the movers!
Good thing there's no school for the next FOUR days!!
No excuses for not being around to help. ;-)
This is the Master Bedroom. This only shows a
small portion of the work that piled up once all the
boxes were unloaded. It will take me a full day
to put this in order!
The garage was soon filled up with all sorts of things we
forgot we had coming! We're beginning to wonder
how we had room for all of this stuff!
There are piles and piles of games and movies
that need sorting and organizing.
I'm not even showing how much work there is to
do in the storage room-that's last on the list.
Let's hope in a week things will be put back right again
and we really will feel we are settled in back home!

So sad I'm missing this....
