One evening last week as I glanced out to the back yard,
lit up by the porch light, I saw what appeared
to be big glistening dew drops on tall blades of grass.
That was not the case at all!
Beginning to grow throughout the yard were
sweet, little, white flowers hanging like bluebells do.
After some help from computer savvy kids,
we learned these flowers are called "Common Snowdrop."
One of the flowers seen in the springtime letting
you know warmer, sunnier days are on their way! Yeah!
When you look at the yard from a distance it does seem to
look like little piles of white snow.....just squint your eyes a little.
The first two pictures were taken on cloudy days,
they do clam up a bit when there is no sun to warm them.
Here is a view on a sunny day.
Little drops of sweetness hanging from their stems.
I had to hold one up to see the pretty inside of the flower.
If you look closely you can tell they do perk up
a bit when it is a sunny day to shine for.
Also called Fair Maids of February.
The flowers in the back yard are wonderful and so sweet and beautiful. It's my favorite time of year - the spring, new beginnings. Thank you for posting them.
