First Few Days~

Jim and I treated each other with the wedding
anniversary gift of having Chandra and Avery
come for a two week visit in Colorado.
It was wonderful!
Jim entertained Avery with "Little Bunny Foo Foo"
Avery loved the rhyme as the days went on.

It was wonderful to snuggle her again!
I missed my sweet, little girl!

While Chandra worked I took Avery on our first
Grandma-Granddaughter walk. :)
I put her to sleep.

Avery got pretty comfortable in the stroller.

Lovin playin with my girl!

Keeping Time~

Cody's good friend Laken sent me a
very thoughtful and sentimental gift.
This necklace watch has two clocks on it.
The top one is the time in Colorado,
the bottom clock is the time in Brazil,
where our Cody boy missionary is.
Such a sweet way to be reminded of my
boy each day as I wear this necklace.
I love it!!!
Thank you Laken!!!

Sister Friends~

What a WONDERFUL WEEK!!!
I loved all the things we did.  I wish I would
have taken more pics, next time...

Nothing like a sister friend to enjoy life with!

 And be silly with...

Enjoying life by the poolside.
Good thing we get to see each other again in October!
I can hardly wait!

Our Last Walk~

Well, it was a great week!  We talked, shopped, ate,
talked, facetimed our grandbabies, talked, wrote our
missionary kids, napped, talked, ate some more and
had a wonderful 9 days together!!!  I enjoyed every
minute and look forward to doing it all over again!
My last morning, Saturday the 3rd of August, Kris
and I took the opportunity to walk some more hills.
All week long we were taking walks she had taken
Yana girl and Sequoia on and it was fun for me to
imagine Yana's pure joy running and sniffing these hills!

The views with the morning fog were incredible!

I love the Oak trees spattered throughout the hills.

Um, we were having a bit of difficulty taking
our own pics...

Just look at the fence and the hanging branch,
that's the best part of the photo! Haha!

Another great view of a fabulous walk!

Walkin' and Talkin'~

One of the morning's I want walking with Kris
and her friend Jackie.  They walk to together
once a week and enjoy a great chat, I had no
problem joining in. Haha!

 Coreen and Jackie

 Kris with Jackie

 Kris and Coreen

Hey!!  Can you be two places at one time??!!

What a gorgeous view!!

A New Life Begins~

Later in the same day Kris and I were able to
witness a different kind of life changing event.

While at her ward's pioneer picnic at a ward members farm
we witnessed a mama goat in the middle of her labor.

You can barely see the baby's head and a hoof trying to
be pushed out by the mama.  When baby goats are born
they come out with their head and a hoof together.
We did not stay long enough to see the birth, we heard
later it was born about an hour later.
It was kind of comical that several mom's were up the hill
watching the mama labor, no men.  I guess we were feeling
some empathy for her, poor thing!

A Cali Visit!~

Thursday, July 25 I had the privilege to go see my
buddy Kris in California to spend time with her
and some of her family.
Within a couple of days of being in CA I was joining them
at their family friends baptism-taking place in the OCEAN!!!
Here we all are at 7 a.m. trying to stay warm.
Glad I'm not going in the water!!!

You can see the San Francisco Bay Bridge in the distance.

Brynn's husband Micheal is great friends
with Levi and was asked to baptize him.

 Step high and quick boys!!!

 Getting ready for the baptism.

Michael, Brynn, Jen-Levi's wife, and Levi,
a new member of the church!!!

The bridge behind Kris and me.

A look in the other direction at the ocean front.
We had a great morning being at the beach to celebrate
such a wonderful step in Levi's life.

A SUPER CUTE BABY!!!~

This is my darling Avery girl!!
I could just gobble her up!!!
Chandra texted this photo to me one day.
I wish I had saved some other cute ones she sent,
but this is one of many cute ones.
This is a dress Chandra wore when she was a baby,
and that is Chandra's blanket she had as a little girl.

Empty Nester Blues~

A little over a week after Cody entered the MTC
Jim and I were having our first "empty nester" Friday
night and decided it was time the trampoline came down.

I was a bit sad since the yard looked so empty without
a trampoline that we have had in our yard for 17 years!
No more "Look at this mom!"
Thanks for all the memories kids!!!

Now that we are empty nesters Jim has more
time to use his new drill he got for Father's Day.
He was great and set up my flower boxes
along the back fence of our yard.

He also hung some decor on our new patio area.

Looks like Jim's going to make some good
use of his cordless drill his kids got him.
Great work honey! :)

Lots of Hugs and Pool Time~

The last day we had the Hedman's with us
we had to squeeze in a lot of things.
One was Grandma Chandler's request
for a four generation photo.

Here is Avery all tuckered out from her photo shoot.

 Chandra, Avery and Tyler

 Chandra, Avery and Grandma

Grandma and Grandpa with their little Avery.

I was really wanting to have Jim take Avery "swimming."
So we used the Manwaring's, ward friends, indoor pool.
The hand off, Mommy to Grandpa.

Avery did great floating on her back.
If she wasn't so tired and already needing a nap she
would have lasted longer than the 15 minutes in the pool.
It sure is fun being grandparents!

A "Carnation" for Father's Day~

Sunday, June 16, 2013
FATHER'S DAY!!!

Avery dressed up special for her Daddy
and Grandpa in her "Carnation" dress.
Here she is at church, I just had to take a photo
of her while holding her in Relief Society.
So, SO CUTE!!!
I just couldn't stop grinning as I looked at her.

Avery was such an irresistible "carnation"
we had to do a photo shoot.

Avery with her Daddy on his first "Father's Day!"

 Just LOVE her!!!!!

Avery with some of her biggest fans.

I could just kiss her and hug her all day long!

We are some happy grandparents.

We had a great Father's Day meal with all kinds of great food.
Jim and Tyler's favorite part of the meal was their HUGE steaks.
Happy Father's Day Jim and Tyler!
Dad/Grandpa loving his girls!
