Not Feeling So "Wise"~

Well, the day finally came when Cody had 

to get all four of his wisdom teeth removed.

He's wondering if it was the "wisest" thing

to agree to do.

DAY ONE:

Cody used big brother Kent's idea, and
Kent's head band, to strap those ice bags on
so he wouldn't have to hold them up all day.                                        

 You can see Cody's smile fading a bit.

Cody's was determined to go to a indoor

tramp facility to watch his dive team have

fun.  Missing out on doing tricks and 

starting to feel more miserable made Cody

only last an hour before we headed home

to relax in front of another movie.

DAY TWO:

Not feeling so hot.

eyebrows giving him a tired, painful 

grumpy look.

Day two after his surgery. 

He really was feeling miserable.

DAY THREE:

Bed is the best place to be.

 After having friends over all day Friday and Saturday

to watch movies with him, he was ready to lay in bed

on the third day and not do much of anything.

The swelling has gone down a bit, but the pain

is still ever present to keep him down.

I'm glad I don't have to see another one of my

kids tolerate such misery!

Whirlwind Weekend~

Despite arriving at different times Jim, Cody and I

enjoyed a very quick weekend in Utah for some fun

activities happening with family.

 I was able to fly to Utah Friday morning.

Originally the plan was Jim and I flying over together 

but scheduling conflicts prevented Jim flying with me.  

Jim and Cody drove over Friday night transporting things 

for Bryce who had begun his new job in Provo a week

earlier.  I was able to go to to the birthday lunch with my 

nieces Chloe and Autumn and some of their siblings.

 After spending a few hours helping Bryce with 

his apartment we then went to Bryan's high school

football game.  Bryan is having a great football career

in high school, it will be exciting if he can continue

using his talents and great work ethic on a college team.

Kelly, her mom, and myself endured a chilly night at

the game under an umbrella keeping the rain off of us.

As one of the team captains Bryan gave a pep talk

to rally the team for next weeks game.

 Chloe and Autumn enjoyed sharing their

birthday cakes with us after Bryan's game.

 Despite Jim and Cody's late night arrival

they were up by 9 ready to go to Zach's 

football game with Bryce and I.

Zach is #25 like his big brother Bryan.

 It was great watching Zach play, especially when 

he made a touch down and had other great plays.

Zach's team also had a win for the weekend.

 Following Zach's game we moved things into Bryce's

town home and helped him get more settled in.

Then we raced back to Draper to be at Chloe and

Autumn's baptism.

We are excited Chloe and Autumn are members of

The Career Begins~

Bryce his first career job and will begin utilizing

his Business Marketing Degree he graduated with

from BYU this past spring.

 Orabrush, Bryce's new employer, has hired Bryce

to be an assistant Marketing Manager.

We are excited for Bryce's new opportunity!

And almost as excited to know he's not too far away,

Provo, Utah is a familiar drive to us. 

Finally Feeling at Home~

The boys had a pretty good Saturday together!

Cody started it off doing four hours of diving 

practice and having Bryce come along to give some

big brother diving tips.  After a four hour practice

Cody was one hungry boy, so....

 ... it was a good day for "Jim's Burger Haven."

The place you can get the biggest burgers ever!

 The day also included hitting some balls at the 

driving range in our neighborhood.

It was a perfect fall day!

Just in the last two or three days I have seen the

leaves changing to their beautiful fall colors, despite

the 80 plus temperatures we have been enjoying.

FALL!! 

 One of the best reasons I looked forward to being back

 in our Colorado home.  I love the crisp air, the changing

leaves, and watching football.  Saturday's are my favorite

day of the week hearing the football games being played 

on the TV as I move through the house getting things done

or sometimes sitting down with my boys to take in the fun.

Homecoming Time~

Cody attended his first Homecoming Dance

at Broomfield High School.

 Cody was part of a large group of school friends.

 One handsome young man!

 Cody with his friend McKenzie he's known since

elementary school.

 Cody indulged me and took a photo 

with his Mom. :-)

 This is the party bus the kids rented to

drive them into Denver for dinner at

Cheesecake Factory and then to the

Homecoming Dance at Invesco Field-

where the Denver Broncos play.

It was a fun ride to Denver but an even better ride

back home once the music was playing!

We Got Mail!~

Saturday, we received a pleasant surprise in the mail!

Letter from Elder Engstrom!

We each received our own personal handwritten letters.

Cody was very excited to read his and immediately

ripped open the envelope and sat down to read his

letter he received from big brother.

Super Saturday~

All the women at church had a

SUPER SATURDAY

spent at the church building

learning all kinds of fun things.

 One of the classes was bread lessons from 

Lori Anderson.  

She makes the BEST cinnamon rolls

and even her reigndeer bread was tasty!

 We  had all kinds of crafts being made.

Most things were fun Christmas decorations 

to keep or as gifts.

I was excited to learn how to create this shadow 

box with cute little hearts displayed inside.

Summer's Complete~

One of the great things about returning to Colorado

is having the privilege of attending the Rockies 

baseball games, compliments of my Mom.

 A whole group of us went on Labor Day.

My Mom, some of my sister's family-the Kaisers,

and Jim and I with Bryce and Jessie.

It was a great day to be out in the beautiful Colorado

sunshine, a little bit of shade was appreciated, and 

enjoy the atmosphere and great view of the Rockies.

Unfortunately, despite a bit of a comeback in the
last inning we still lost 10-7 to the D-Backs!  Darn!

After the game we enjoyed a fun, entertaining meal at

a Mongolian BBQ restaurant.  It rounded off our

"world tour" of international foods for the weekend!

Good Eats~

Bryce would like to claim he made this 

Peach-Raspeberry Pie and I will give

him some credit in it's creation since

he blanched the peaches used in it.

It was delicious with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.

A New Puppy!!!~

Meet Little Lilly!!! 

A nine week old black lab!!

Sooo sweet!

We went and picked her out today.

 No, she is not ours to keep.

We helped out our friends, the Reichman's.
Since they would not be in town the day Lilly could 

come home we went and picked her up  for them.

We considered it a privilege.

 It's the attack of the shoe laces!!!

Surprisingly Bryce still had them by the time we left.

 Since I didn't have any shoelaces they worked on my

toes and sandals.  My toes took a beating!

 We stopped by the Reichman's so Lilly could see where 

her real home was going to be.  She stood on the 

doorstep wondering when she would see her new family.

 We took her to her temporary house, our home.

 She was curious about much in the room

 She finally climbed out then layed down and took a nap.

She would have fun playing with you for 10 or 15 minutes

at a time and then she would suddenly find a spot next to a

warm body and promptly fall asleep for a nap.  She spent

most of her day napping.  She's just a small baby!

 She liked snuggling with Jim.

 Jessie and Bryce took her out to eat.

 Bryce wanted to see if Lilly would share her food.  She was 

determined to eat it herself and would push against him.

 Lilly got tire of standing up to eat, so she took a seat.
