Float Trip~

Despite the lack of winter water run off our
August 13 raft trip with family and friends turned
out to be a great day on the river.
Jim's ready to do an August trip every summer now!

One of the highlights of the day was doing
the "jumping rock."
Of course Cody was the first to plunge in.

 Kowabunga!!!

Cody's friend Micheal followed close behind.

Cody's cousin Sarah was having a blast
on her first raft trip and she was going to
DO IT ALL!!! :-)

Jim's not about to be left behind.

 Cody, head first.

 Another jump for Sarah.

 Great weather day.

Cody and Micheal doing a little floating.

They got the whole group in on the action.

There's Bob keeping an eye on everyone.

 My personal raft guide. :-)
He took me down on the frame and we
didn't flip even once. WHEW!!!

The second rock we usually stop at which
is definitely a bit higher than the first one.

 There's Cody going for it!

 Jim's joining in, of course.

Here he is doing a second one.

Cody boy again, this one was a flip.

 Our cute Sarah!

Cody's liking his perch up high.

 Getting ready to shove off.

Here we are headed to our take out using the motor
to get us down the very slow river.
It made for some nice leisure time eating lunch and
just plain chillin out.

 The grand finale':
The bottom of the boat slide!
There's Cody going for it.

It was a great day on the river with great company!

Olympic Cousin Buddy Watchers~

Watching the 2012 Olympics with the cousins
for the last week and a half is just as good as
being at the Olympics!
Nothing like a comfy couch, computer time and good
munchies with awesome company to have fun with!

Garage Party~

My brother's family was in town for the week
and we enjoyed several occasions to gather.

Unfortunately the day we hosted a BBQ at our home
it turned into a stormy afternoon so the BBQ was
moved into our garage.  No one seemed to mind.
We had family members from both sides to visit with.

Here's some of those cute cousins!

 Kovyk and Cody...

Cousinly love. :-)

Our Sweet Little Rue~

~Rue~
We love our cute little lab girl!
She is now with a great family that has four children,
two of them 11 and 9.  They also have a 5 year old
German Shepard and are moving to a property in
Idaho with acreage for her to play on.
A dogs paradise: Family, kids, dog and land!
We could not have asked for a better home for her!
Rue had begun to carry around her food and water bowl
as labs like to do.  She could barely walk as she carried
it through the house.  It was precious to watch.

 Playing with her buddy Lily.

 Lily and Rue

 Our cute girl!

 Saying goodbye to Rue.
It was not easy but made easier knowing she was
going to a wonderful, fun home with lots of love to give.

It was hard for my Cody boy to give her up.

Cody does have a big heart of love.
I am grateful he cares.

We love you Rue!!!
Always!

SHOWERED With Gifts~

Our weekend has been an exciting one!
Jim and I once again headed to Utah for a quick trip.
We took Bryce and Jessie their table, returned the
rafting gear to Bob, and most importantly I
attended Jessie's bridal shower!

While Bryce and Jim golfed with Jessie's Dad and
some other family members Jessie enjoyed her family
and friends at her bridal shower opening many fun gifts.

Jessie was excited with the crock pot from my Mom
and sister and some fun, bright summer dishes from
my friend Kim.  She also liked the Polish Pottery I
brought as well as a new pan for Bryce to make our
family's traditional Swedish Pancakes with.

Jessie with her Mom Gayle and myself.

Kelly was able to come to Jessie's shower along with
all her cute girls: Sarah, Chloe, Autumn and Ella.
Jessie's niece Ellie was also there.
We enjoyed some fun family time with Bob's family
watching Zach play his Baseball Championship game,
and later on some fun family time playing four-square
until late into the evening.

We got up early Sunday morning to head back home
and try to spend some of Father's Day with Cody who
had to stay home to work.  On the way out of town we
stopped at Bryce's so he could give his Dad the Father's
Day gift everyone bought together.  Jim looks great in
this fabulous red raincoat!

Once home I was excited to give Jim his second gift,
a new ice cream maker!  This one does not need ice
or salt to get the job done.  Can't wait to try it out!
Happy Father's Day Sweety!!!

After 28 years of use our blender, a wedding gift, died.
Cody was happy we purchased a new one.
Shake making was back in business with this new toy.
It was a great weekend where we were all "showered"
with wonderful gifts!
