Day in Denver~

We found fun things to do in Denver for the day.

First order of business was Tyler learning how to make
the traditional Engstrom Swedish pancakes.  He got to break
in his new pan especially for making Swedish pancakes.

 Jim giving instructions.

 Turned out pretty good!

Nothing like a Swedish Pancake breakfast to start the day.
Mmmm, mmmmm!

Jumping on the tramp after breakfast had no
negative consequences for Bryce and Cody.

We went into Denver and we passed a construction
site where someone crocheted flowers along the fence.

 So cute!

A view of the Platte River.

 Denver Colorado State Capitol

We are sitting on the capital's step that
puts us exactly a mile above sea level.

We walked along the 16th street mall to see the sights.

 Chess players.

We then headed North to Longmont to
eat at Dad's favorite rib place.
Bryce ordered a half rib size.

 Chandra and Tyler

Cody ordered a full rib stack...

....and polished it off pretty well.
We ended our great family day swimming,
attending another wedding reception then
relaxing in front of a movie.
I love my family, including my missionary
Elder Engstrom!!!

Kaiser Colorado Wedding Reception~

We enjoyed a lovely evening at
Andre and Michelle Kaiser's Wedding Reception
in Colorodo.

 Bryce and Jessie

 Cody and company

 The receiving line.

We had gorgeous views of the sunset.

 Grandpa and Bryce

Some of the Chandler Clan

Breakfast, Bugs and Boulder~

It's the weekend!!!
With Bryce coming in town and bringing Jessie
with him we were looking forward to some
fun activities together as a family.

While Jim went into work and Bryce to a job interview
the rest of us enjoyed Chandra's delicious french toast.

Bryce returned from his interview with a "friend."
After being in the house for 5 minutes or so Cody
noticed "something" on the back of Bryce's jacket.
As he turned around we gasped (the girls gasped)
to see a Praying Mantis hitching a ride!

We had a hard time getting rid of the thing!

For lunch we headed off to Boulder to eat at Bryce's
favorite burrito place "Illegal Pete's."

Mexican Food is one of Tyler's favorite meals.
He did pretty good getting 3 burritos in one week!

 The "connoisseur" of pocket knives
found his favorite store in Boulder!

Pocket Knife choices were endless in this shop!

Pearl Street walking mall in Boulder.

Cody got so hot walking along Boulder Creek he
decided a plunge from the rope swing was necessaray.

 An easy flip.

 Some fun little cascades.

Dad had been at the KBCO radio stations survey
meeting critiquing music.  We met up with him to
hear the closing band playing their music.

The "Papa Burger"~

We had to take Tyler to the infamous Jim's Burger Haven
for him to believe the size of their burgers.

Tyler was duly impressed with his "Papa Burger."

Chandra and I stuck with more reasonable sized burgers.

Tyler's favorite food stop so far during
his trip to Colorado!

Another Great Day At Home~

Besides a yummy lunch at Kokoro's and baking
chocolate chip cookies we ended our day having an
enjoyable meal and visit with our ward missionaries.

They send their greetings to Elder Engstrom and show
him the good home cooking they are enjoying for him. ;-)

Chandra, Tyler, and Jim all had a go on the trampoline.
Looks like they still got a few tricks in them.

Tyler's even throwing some fancy flips!

Jim can still swival those hips!

Fore!~

It's been a long while since Jim, Cody and Tyler
have been hitting golf balls.

 Some good form here! ;-)

Yana, Chandra and I enjoyed the view.

Cute couple!

Bring It On!~

With Tyler and Chandra here for the week
the cribbage board will be out often.
They love playing, and are really good,
even though much of the time we beat them.
Too bad Grandpa Engstrom isn't around
to get a game or two in with them.

First game night Jim and Coreen won...a few rounds,
but it was always close!!!

Sunday-"Looking Forward"~

It was a good Sunday at home.
The best part was having Chandra and Tyler
arrive from Utah the night before and having
them home with us all week!!!!  YEAH!!!!

There were some other good things about our day.

Cody looked forward to the watermelon.

The family looked forward to the Sunday meal.

We all looked forward to dessert and sharing it
 with the Reichman's.

Kendra looked forward to the help with the
sachet bags for the wedding reception.
